Situated in the lap of nature, the quaint city of Belgaum is a refreshing escape for those who wish to spend some secluded moments, away from the hustle and bustle of the city life! From forts to temples and churches, there’s something for everyone!

  • Belgaum Fort

A decadent structure constructed in the 13th century AD by Jaya Ratta, the Ruler of the Ratta Dynasty in 1204, it is one of the most popular destinations in town. It has seen many historical chapters unfold: from being associated with powerful empires of Vijaynagar, Bijapur Sultans and the British to being a site where Mahatma Gandhi was imprisoned.

  • The Kapileshwara Temple

One of the most ancient temples of Belgaum, it houses the shrines of Lord Ganesh, Saibaba, Hanuman and Navgraha. It is believed that the pilgrimage of the 12 Jyotirlingas is incomplete without visiting this holy temple. Many believers flock to the temple every day to proffer their prayers and to indulge in some moments of soul cleansing.

  • Dudhsagar

Translated as ‘sea of milk’, these 4 tiered falls are located along the border of Goa & Karnataka. Springing from the Mandovi River, these falls are reckoned amongst the list of the tallest falls in India. It is a biodiversity hotspot, which makes its way through Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary & Mollem National Park.
